With cyber insurance requirements tightening, many manufacturers are finding it harder than ever to secure or renew their coverage. Don’t wait for a renewal denial to find out where your gaps are.

Join STACK Cybersecurity and the Michigan Manufacturers Association for a free webinar to learn exactly what underwriters are looking for and how to strengthen your cybersecurity controls. The presentation will be led by STACK CEO Rich Miller with special guest Jake Charen, a Cybersecurity Insurance Specialist, to provide an inside look at cyber insurance.

Law and accounting firms have become some of the most attractive targets for cybercriminals. You hold financial records, tax data, client communications, M&A details. A breach doesn't just cost you. It costs your clients, and it can end careers.

Insurers know your value as a target. And they're getting a lot more selective about who they cover.

Here's where we keep seeing professional services firms get caught: MFA isn't deployed everywhere. Remote access has gaps. And there's no endpoint detection to catch an intruder who already got in through a phishing email three weeks ago.

AI-powered phishing has made those gaps significantly more dangerous. The emails look real. The urgency feels legitimate. One click from a paralegal or junior associate is all it takes.

If your firm has been denied cyber coverage, seen premiums spike at renewal, or you've never actually stress-tested your security posture, that's the conversation to have now, not after something happens.

STACK offers a free cyber insurance readiness assessment for professional services firms. We'll identify the gaps insurers are flagging and show you what it takes to get covered and stay covered.

FTC Safeguards Rule compliance required it. Cyber insurers are enforcing it. The question is whether you're ahead of that or behind it.

Defense contractors are focused on CMMC. That's the right priority. But there's a parallel problem quietly derailing companies before they ever get to certification.

Cyber insurance denials.

CMMC assessors want to see your controls. Cyber insurers want to see the same controls, and they're not waiting for a federal deadline to ask. If you're applying for renewal right now and you have gaps in multi-factor authentication (MFA) coverage or no endpoint detection and response (EDR) deployed, you're likely looking at a denial or a premium you can't absorb.

We're seeing it regularly with defense contractors in Michigan. They've done a lot of the CMMC groundwork: policies, documentation, vendor reviews. But the technical controls, especially full MFA across every access point and endpoint detection on every device, aren't complete. Insurers catch that. CMMC assessors will too.

The good news: the fix for both problems is the same fix. Close the MFA gaps. Deploy EDR. You move toward CMMC compliance and become insurable.

Sharing highlights from the Michigan Assisted Living Association (MALA) 2026 Annual Conference and Dementia Summit!

This year, STACK Cybersecurity was honored to both speak at and sponsor the event. CEO Rich Miller presented "AI at the Tipping Point," focused on how assisted living facilities can implement artificial intelligence tools, safely.

STACK Cybersecurity is proud to serve as the IT and cybersecurity service provider for the Michigan Assisted Living Association (MALA).

AI tools are now standard on the shop floor. Insurers know it, and they're adjusting premiums and denials accordingly.

Here's what we're seeing at STACK: Manufacturers are getting hit at renewal with questions they can't answer. Do you have multi-factor authentication (MFA) on every system, every user, every remote access point? Do you have endpoint detection and response (EDR) deployed across your environment?

If the answer is "mostly" or "we think so," that's a denial waiting to happen.

Cyber insurers have quietly moved the goalposts. Sporadic MFA used to be enough. EDR was a nice-to-have. In 2026, both are table stakes, and carriers are auditing more aggressively than ever. AI-driven attacks have made manufacturing a high-value target. One breach at a supplier can take down an entire production line.

We've helped manufacturers go from uninsurable to fully covered, and in every case the path ran through the same two gaps: incomplete MFA and no EDR.

If you've been denied, repriced, or you're dreading your next renewal, don't wait for the letter.

STACK offers a free cyber insurance readiness assessment. We'll tell you exactly where you stand and what it takes to get covered.

The federal government just sued a state over an AI law for the first time in U.S. history.

On April 24, the DOJ joined Elon Musk's xAI in suing Colorado to block its AI anti-discrimination law. A federal judge has already frozen the law while the case plays out.

Colorado's legislature adjourns Tuesday. Whatever happens in the next four days will shape AI compliance for businesses nationwide. Here's why it matters: https://stackcyber.com/posts/federal-ai-policy

Cybersecurity wasn't where we started. In 2006, we were AM Data Service, doing what most IT shops do: keep the lights on, fix what breaks, repeat.

Then the threat landscape changed faster than most businesses could track, and we made a choice. We shifted our entire focus toward proactive security, changed our name, and haven't looked back.

Today we're proud to accept the 2026 Kaseya Excellence Award for Security Excellence, in the inaugural year of these awards. It's meaningful recognition, and we don't take it lightly.

What it reflects is the daily work: helping military contractors and suppliers stay compliant as their operations evolve, securing new equipment before it touches the network, revoking access when employees leave, isolating legacy systems so outdated software doesn't become an open door. Partners know that when their business changes, their security posture keeps pace.

We built Michigan's first federally registered cybersecurity apprenticeship program because this industry needs more ways in, not more barriers. We stay current on regulatory changes, known vulnerabilities, and threat actor activity so our clients don't have to.

The goal was never an award. It was making sure our clients never become a case study.

Thanks to Kaseya for the recognition, and to the clients who make this work worth doing. And special thanks to our dedicated Kaseya account manager, Jordan Dunn.

AI in assisted living is at a tipping point.

Too much = risk.
Too little = falling behind.

STACK Cyber CEO Rich Miller is tackling both at the 2026 MALA Conference, plus the guardrails needed to protect resident and staff data.
