We had a very interesting one today… a bug crossed the C to Herm on the capacitor when it was running. Caused a short, and blew the wire off. The capacitor tested good, the compressor tested good! Fixed the wire and it ran just fine after!

Just like a dirty condenser coil causes your unit to not run right. A dirty evaporator will cause it to freeze over due to lack of airflow. This customer called us for a basic maintenance because their house would not cool past 72°, and the system would just run all day! They wanted to keep their house at 68°. After performing the maintenance we found the metering device had failed! Which is why they could not cool down their house. After replacing the metering device, we got the house from 72° down to 68° in a matter of an hour! The customer is super excited to have a properly function AC again! And said they have to move the set point up because 68° was to cold! Give us a call for all your HVAC needs! We got a call this morning about a hot water tank that had gone bad, causing the basement flood with 2 inches of water! After the water was cleared out we were there within 2 hours to get them a new hot water heater!! Give us a call if for all your HVAC and hot water needs! Dirty air filter leads to low air flow, which leads to a frozen coil!! After turning on the heat for a little bit, we were able to get their coil thawed out. After a filter change and a good look over their system we got them running again! A good maintenance could have prevented this service call! Give us a call for all your HVAC needs. Out with the old leaking system, and in with the new efficient system!! This customer had an almost 30 year old system that kept leaking all of the refrigerant out! After a temporary fix we were able to get them a new AC unit within two days! Give AT Mechanical a call for all your HVAC needs!!
