TOMCO marked a major milestone for Atlanta as City of Refuge, Inc. officially launched its Welding Training Center. The first cohort of 12 individuals will soon graduate with AWS accreditation, stepping into high-demand roles in the trades.

This state-of-the-art facility is the result of years of vision, collaboration, and commitment to building stronger career pathways. TOMCO Systems is proud to support this mission alongside Norfolk Southern, Lincoln Electric, and Airgas, helping create opportunities that strengthen both people and community.

We’re proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary and retirement of Fred Roy, a true cornerstone of TOMCO Systems.

Fred carried the spirit of Semper Paratus—always ready—from his time in the Coast Guard into every moment of his career here. Whether it was helping a teammate troubleshoot, providing critical documentation, or jumping into a tough situation with wisdom and clarity, Fred was the person you wanted on your side. And of course, he always had a coffee in hand and a sea story ready to share.

Over the years, Fred has worn many hats—from technician to leader—and built a reputation that stretches far beyond TOMCO. His name comes up regularly when we talk to longtime customer contacts. “Call Fred” has been a common phrase in our world, and for good reason.

Fred, your expertise, consistency, and contributions have played a big role in the work we do here. You’ve left a lasting mark on this team and this industry.
