F&L Petroleum Products continues to service the U.S. General Services Administration. We just received an order for 72 drums of Tectyl 894 Class 1 corrosion preventive. This product is used by the Navy and will most likely be protecting one of our Pacific Fleet Ships in the very near future.

The F&L Racing Fuel Class 10 took another class win and an 18th place overall at the 2012 SCORE Baja 500. The driving teams of Matt Cullen/Mike Lombardi and Chuck Sacks/Layton Bowles shared the duties again in an impressive run in the 450 mile offroad race which started and finished in Ensenada. Matt and Mike got the car to the halfway point afer a flawless run. The car was handed over to Chuck and Layton who had a just a slightly more challenging run having to change a flat tire and fix a power steering leak. Chuck and Layton brought the car across the finish line approximately 20 minutes (on the road) before the next Class 10. Next up for the team is the 2012 SCORE Baja 1000 in an even more challenging race from Ensenada down the entire peninsula to La Paz.

F&L Petroleum Products is proud to announce that we have won another government contract through the GSA (U.S. General Services Administration). We will continue to provide specialized corrosion preventive and industrial petroleum products to the U.S. government under this new contract. F&L is recognized nationally as a leading provider of these products to public and private entities as well as the U.S. government.

A little late on the update from the latest F&L Racing Fuel Class 10...Race day March 10th...The F&L team of Matt Cullen (driver) and Mike Lombardi (co-driver) got the car through a very rough 118 miles of the San Felipe desert. Early on by mile 8 the car showed signs of the suspension going away. On perhaps the roughest course of all the SCORE races suspension plays a huge factor in success or failure. During the 100 mile battle Matt & Mike were able to keep the car near the front of the pack and assumed the lead at over 100 mph across the dusty Diablo dry lake bed. At race mile 118 the car was turned over to Chuck and Layton with a lead of about 6 minutes. Trouble started 30 miles later with a flat and trouble getting the car out of the soft silty sand. Then more trouble later with a broken suspension part that hindered Chuck from pushing the car to the limit. Fighting a broken car to the finish the team was able to salvage an impressive 3rd place finish and maintain a 5 point lead in the season championship.

Moving on to the ever challenging SCORE Baja 500 in June the team expects nothing less than a win.

The F&L Racing Fuel Class 10 took first place in round one of the 2012 SCORE offroad racing season at Laughlin. Matt Cullen & Mike Lombardi piloted the car to an impressive finish almost three minutes ahead of the next finisher. A round two third place finish was less than what was expected, but without power steering for the entire race, it is very respectable. A first & third place finish is a great start to the season. Next up is the SCORE San Felipe 250 in Baja.

The F&L Class 10 buggy will be heading back to Baja in November to run the 44th annual SCORE Baja 1000. The driving assignments look to be Chuck Sacks with co-driver Layton Bowles starting the car in Ensenada and taking it to Mike Lombardi and co-driver Johnny Brockway at Morelia Junction (NW of San Felipe). Mike will pilot the car around the famed San Felipe loop and bring it to Matt Cullen who will run it to the finish with hopefully another Baja victory.
