The onsite power industry is heading to the D.C. area this September. Experts are ready to talk about one topic on everyone's minds: data centers and the accelerating demand for bulletproof infrastructure reliability.

If you are tracking emergency power design, the EGSA (Electrical Generating Systems Association) Fall Conference on September 13-15 is where you need to be.

Our genset team Tony Crandall, Lesa Patterson, and Nick Sarkis will be on the floor to talk pure engine-starting math. Reach out directly to arrange a dedicated meeting slot.

We will be focused on solving the single biggest vulnerability in emergency power infrastructure: starting battery failure.

Whether you are optimizing existing data center backup systems or engineering layouts for next-generation facilities, we’re on site to discuss how our small and rugged MicroGenius 2, S2/S4 and LE chargers hold up under harsh conditions and greatly extend battery life,s while our SuperTorque 8Z engine starting system also substantially trim footprints and permanently eliminate lead-acid headaches.

Space savings matter anywhere, especially in a data center, where every square foot is at a premium.

So having a DC power system that consumes up to 87% less floor space than traditional configurations gives you a real competitive advantage.

With the PowerCab®️2, you can completely eliminate dedicated battery rooms, cut back the size of your E-house, and place the whole DC power system outside. Multiplied across a whole campus, savings can be in the millions.

See it for yourself at Data Center World Power, Sept. 21-23 in Dallas, Booth 211.

With grid connection timelines now stretching to four or five years in major markets, the ultimate gatekeeper for data center deployment is power.

The SENS team is heading to Dallas for Data Center World Power on September 21-23 to address this issue head-on. There are clear advantages of moving away from high-risk, site-built integrations, as we will be showcasing at Booth 211.

Our technical experts are out in full force to talk load behaviors, protective relay coordination, and substantially shrinking the size of the E-house.

We are also bringing our factory-built, pre-wired configurations PowerCab® 2 and SuperTorque® 8R & 8Z directly to Dallas so you can see a systems-level approach in person.

We have officially grown to 300 employees. It’s an exciting milestone, but the number itself is only part of the story.

As customer needs evolve, we continue to invest in the people and capabilities to deliver innovative, integrated power solutions, while maintaining the quality our customers and channel partners expect.

More people. More ingenuity. More scale. More expertise focused on keeping critical systems running. To everyone who helped us reach 300, thank you! We’re ready for what comes next.

As demand for reliable power infrastructure grows, SENS is expanding its U.S. manufacturing capacity to help customers deploy critical power systems at greater speed and scale.

We have officially opened our new 105,000-square-foot manufacturing and office facility in Longmont, Colorado. The expansion doubles our footprint from just two years ago and supports significant growth in our team, from 50 employees at the end of 2020 to 300 by the end of this month.

SENS solutions already support more than 80% of North American data centers, and the new facility gives us greater capacity to build and test complete power systems in a controlled factory environment.

For our customers and partners, this means more consistent delivery at greater scale of the reliable power systems required to keep critical infrastructure running.

We marked the opening with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside representatives of the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, Longmont Economic Development Partnership, local businesses and community members.

Sometimes, career journeys come full circle. Imagine being taught by someone in elementary school, only to have your paths cross years later as colleagues working together on the same team.

This is exactly what happened on our 8Z second-shift line. As the Lead for the 8Z area, Luis Montes now works with Production Operator I Alex Martinez and Junior Assembler Gustavo Mosqueda. Before coming to SENS, Luis spent over 20 years in the St. Vrain Valley School District and taught Alex and Gustavo when they were kids. Back then, they knew him as "Mr. Montes." Today, they are peers on the manufacturing floor.

After graduating together from Longmont High School, Alex and Gustavo are now building their careers at SENS. This is a deeply rewarding moment for Luis, who is proud that 90% of his former students went on to graduate. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication!

As the summer winds down, we want to give a shoutout to the phenomenal interns who drove real impact across SENS this year: Mae Mills (Sales Engineering), Sydney Scott (Sales), Devin Hash (Finance), and Ian Colson (Manufacturing Engineering).

Our interns dove right into the day-to-day work, taking on meaningful projects and making hands-on contributions to our operations:

🔸Mae built a powerful case study demonstrating how our PowerCab®2 saves clients millions through space reduction and designed the system diagram currently featured on our website.

🔸 In Sales, Sydney supported our team by working on orders while also contributing her efforts to our new employee onboarding project.

🔸 Devin dedicated his summer to developing a new Learning Management System (LMS) for SENS, collaborating with departments across the company to build a unified process that accommodates everyone's needs.

🔸 On the manufacturing side, Ian co-led a kaizen event for the MicroGenius line, successfully turning his data analysis and operator collaboration into manufacturing upgrades.

We are incredibly grateful for the hard work, fresh perspectives, and the lasting mark you've all left on our team. Thank you, Mae, Sydney, Devin, and Ian! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next!

Resilience was the defining theme at last week’s ASHE Innovation Conference, a focus our own Tony Crandall saw firsthand. To help healthcare facilities meet these evolving demands, we’re sharing a new guest article from EPSS expert Steve Works.

Steve breaks down the major modernizations in the newly adopted 2025 Edition of NFPA 110, including:
🔸 Explicit approval for modern battery chemistries like NiZn.
🔸 Why cranking voltage drop is now the "gold standard" metric for testing emergency readiness.

The SENS SuperTorque® 8Z platform aligns perfectly with these safety-driven changes, offering hazmat-free NiZn batteries and a built-in charger that actively captures cranking voltage drop.

A 15 MW microgrid that keeps a defense facility operational for 21 days straight...that is true energy resilience.

Robert Benavidez caught a great shot of our EnerGenius charger hard at work at the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station during the EGSA (Electrical Generating Systems Association) spring conference tour.

For those who don't know, Miramar is a textbook blueprint for modern hybrid design. It balances solar assets, battery energy storage (BESS), and traditional generation to secure one of the largest air stations in the country.

What makes this installation particularly remarkable is its flexibility - the system is engineered with the bi-directional capability to support the regional utility and keep neighboring civilian communities energized during a crisis.

We engineer our charger platforms specifically for these types of high-stakes microgrids and other mission-critical applications, where a failure in the battery charging system could cascade down to jeopardize the entire operation. Seeing them trusted on the base floor is exactly why we build them to industrial extremes.
