On May 9th, team members Jamison Martin, Rod Gunlikson, and Chris Martin had the pleasure of welcoming three students from Colorado State University to the TLC Learning Center jobsite for an in-person tour. We first connected with them during a recent visit to their Estimating class, and it was great to build on that conversation out in the field. Belle Creek Charter School Additions & Renovations

Today marks one year since the completion of the Belle Creek Charter School expansion—an exciting project that enhanced learning spaces and improved functionality for students and staff!

Project Highlights:

Three building additions – including a two-story Instrumental Music addition, a two-story Classroom addition, and a new Administration addition.

STEM Lab, Life Skills Classroom, Art & General Music relocation

New secure entry, reception area, clinic, and staff offices

Extensive interior renovations – staff lounge, conference rooms, RTI spaces & more

Location: Henderson, CO

We’re thrilled to share some photos of a recently completed project for Springfield School District! The Springfield School District had been operating out of a high school and elementary school built in 1958, as well as six other buildings spread out across its 23-acre campus, which served over 300 students. The project included demo of most of the old buildings and construction of 57,349 square feet of new space, including a two-story classroom wing, a new gymnasium complex and an addition to the current administration space. The campus remained occupied throughout construction. The project also included 23,334 square feet of renovations, which in total consolidated space for the District into a single, PreK-12th grade campus!

RIBBON CUTTING!!

On February 20, GTC representatives proudly attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for JeffCom 911’s new state-of-the-art emergency communications center. Tucked into Golden’s scenic landscape, the two-story, 23,000-sf 24/7/365 facility features a raised access floor, a gym, quiet room, and marketplace to support first responders working around the clock.

GTC Sr. Project Manager Brett Sorensen shared, “Through close collaboration with the design team, we ensured the project aligned with the client’s operational needs. This project not only strengthens our professional relationships but also enhances emergency response capabilities, increasing public safety and supporting overall community growth."

GTC is honored to have been part of this impactful project!

We are excited to share that GTC has begun working on the new TLC Learning Center. The TLC Early Learning Collaborative facility will be a gathering place that reflects TLC's long-standing vision of inclusion, community, and equity. This 32,000 sq. ft., two-story building will include classrooms, pediatric therapy spaces, a commercial kitchen, professional development and community training spaces, administrative offices, multiple playgrounds, and ample parking.

Located in Longmont, TLC Learning Center focuses on expanding early learning opportunities for the Colorado community. The new facility aims to serve children with learning disabilities and their families, providing a central location for collaboration among parents, caregivers, children, and early learning specialists.

On Wednesday, May 1st, the Colorado State University Construction Management department celebrated a significant milestone with their annual senior hard hat ceremony, a cherished tradition where graduating seniors are honored for their dedication and achievements.

Among the distinguished seniors recognized were Ethan Frazier, Jerome Quintana, and Will MacGuire, who stood out for their exceptional contributions and commitment to the field. With pride, all three talented individuals have chosen to embark on their post-graduation journey with GTC, a testament to their skills and the reputation of the CSU Construction Management program. Will MacGuire (right) will take on the role of Project Engineer, while Ethan Frazier (far left) and Jerome Quintana (left) will serve as Field Engineers, roles that align perfectly with their past experiences and aspirations.

Having previously interned with GTC, their decision to continue their professional growth with the company underscores their confidence in our values and opportunities for advancement. Exciting Progress Update! We're thrilled to share the latest developments on our Loveland Classical Schools Classroom Addition project.

As the roof construction reaches completion, the addition is now starting to look ready and poised to nurture the minds of future generations.

Inside, rapid progress is being made with interior framing, shaping each classroom and hallway. Concurrently, the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) rough work has started, ensuring that state-of-the-art amenities and utilities will foster an innovative learning environment.

On the exterior the installation of storefront windows not only enhances the building's aesthetic appeal but also allows natural light, fostering an uplifting atmosphere for education.

As this project comes together, the Loveland Classical Schools Classroom Addition is poised to become a symbol of educational excellence. Stay tuned for further updates as we embark on this journey!

We're thrilled to announce a shining star in our company: Chris Martin (B.S., construction management, '20) has been named a 2024 Emerging Leader Alumnus by the Colorado State University College of Health and Human Sciences!

Chris's journey from contemplating a different career path to becoming a Senior Project Manager in record time exemplifies determination, passion, and excellence. His story is a testament to the transformative power of education and following one's true calling.

Growing up in Greeley, Colorado, Chris was immersed in the world of construction from an early age, accompanying his father, a superintendent for a local home builder, to job sites. This exposure ignited Chris's passion for the industry, leading him to pursue a degree in construction management at CSU.

During his time at CSU, Chris didn't just excel academically; he became deeply involved in shaping the future of his field and supporting his fellow students. Through volunteering and mentoring, he shared his expertise and insights, leaving a lasting impact on the department and its students.

Even as his career soared, Chris remained dedicated to giving back to his alma mater. From participating in capstone review boards to actively engaging with students at career fairs, he continues to inspire and guide the next generation of CM Rams.

Chris' remarkable rise to senior management in just four years underscores his talent, work ethic, and leadership. His achievements reflect not only his own success but also the strength and caliber of CSU's construction management program.
