On 3/7/22 my wife Micki passed away. We are totally devastated and this will devastate the business. Micki was the love of my life and we were together for 35 years. She handled all the office work and scheduling for the BWE Fi****ms. I need to be here for our children at this point, so I am asking for your help financially until we are at a point to rebuild the business. This is not easy for me to ask for help but I am asking for my family.

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Richard Hoffman of BWE Fi****ms and U*i HQ passed away on February 13, 2023 after a two year battle with colon cancer.

We appreciate your patience during this time, and thank you to everyone who has donated to the GiveSendGo. We are working to fulfill orders and send back items that people had sent Richard to work on. It will be a process, between grieving, sorting through the shop, and probate court. We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience.

Well I am out of the hospital. Meet with the neurosurgeon and he gave the clear to get radiation treatments and resume my chemotherapy. The picture is of me getting my radiation mask made so I can start treatment this week. Unfortunately they told me I do not get any superpowers. We’ll back in the hospital again. When I went in on Wednesday to get my chemotherapy and my left shoulder and arm was killing me. My nurses were worried I was having heart problems from the chemo so they got my doctor and she agreed. They had my drive around the block to the ER to have my heart checked. My heart turned out to be fine but I have a broken vertebrae in my neck which is pinching a nerve in my neck possibly causing the pain in my shoulder. Unfortunately the scans also showed up that my cancer may have spread to my neck and spine. So now I am waiting for a bed to open up at ORM to have a consultation with the neurosurgeon to see if he wants to fix the vertebrae to relieve ve the pressure on the nerve. If he doesn’t want to do anything I will be transferred to oncology who is going to use radiation to relieve pressure on the nerves.

Just a typical day at chemo treatment. I’m glad I was able to make all the nurses and a bunch of the other cancer patients laugh.

Well with the help of my little friend, I was able to get all the orders entered into Quick Books. Now I need to figure out what orders I can fill with the stock I have on hand. Then get in the shop and start making parts to fill the rest of the back orders. Thank you for everyone understanding my need to just personally shut down for the last six months after Mickies death. Orders will start being shipped out soon.
