Small concrete pours are where quick estimating math becomes extremely useful.
For this 4 ft × 10 ft × 4 in. slab:
4 in. ÷ 12 ≈ 0.333 ft
4 × 10 × 0.333 ≈ 13.3 cu ft
Using an example yield of about 0.60 cu ft per 80-lb bag:
13.3 ÷ 0.60 ≈ 22.2 bags
Round up and the estimate becomes about 23 bags.
Always check the actual yield printed by the manufacturer before purchasing because bag yield can vary by product.
For a pour this size, would you mix bags on site or order ready-mix?
