Did you know that Disability Pride Month originated as a form to celebrate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990? But Disability Pride is about so much more than a single piece of legislation. It's about recognizing disability as a natural part of the human experience, celebrating disabled identities, and continuing to remove barriers that prevent people from fully participating in everyday life.
