Good morning family and friends,

Moore Air, Inc is concerned for the safety of you and your family. We are following the development of the emerging coronavirus (COVID-19) closely, and in the interest of ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, we wanted to keep you posted on the actions that we are taking to keep you and our employees safe.

Prior to coming to work each day, we are asking our employees to take a personal health self-assessment, which includes questions including:
Do any of the following currently apply to you?

• Fever (greater than 37.3°C/99.1°F)

• Respiratory symptoms, dry cough or shortness of breath, headache, muscle aches and pains, chills, sore throat or other unexplained severe illness accompanied by a fever

• Possible contact (within 3 feet/1 meter) of symptomatic individuals or those who have come in contact with the virus.

If our employees answer yes to any of the above, they are being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days, and they cannot return to work until the risk has passed.

Likewise, we ask you to let us know if any of the above apply to you, and we can assess how we serve you, keeping in mind everyone’s safety and health.

Your Health and Safety is our Top Priority. For this reason, Moore Air, Inc has also implemented new protocols for our field personnel, including:

Practice social distancing while in the home on sales consultations and during repairs or new installations. While we value face-to-face conversations about your HVAC system, your dealer/contractor will follow-up once service or installation is complete by phone, rather than in your home, if you prefer.

Additional cleaning measure for our contractors such as frequent hand-washing, disinfecting of service vehicles, and hand sanitizer in our vehicles

We thank you for your business and appreciate your flexibility as we navigate this unprecedented time while keeping you and our employees safe and healthy.

Regards,

Moore Air, Inc.

The confidence you have shown in affording us this opportunity to analyze your needs is appreciated, and we have carefully considered every factor necessary.

As you probably also know, from the first day equipment goes “online,” it starts to deteriorate. Improperly maintained equipment deteriorates at an even faster rate! Preventive Maintenance can extend equipment life by more than 20%. In addition, depending upon parts and availability, it is not uncommon for an emergency service call to cost between 15% to over 50% above normal rates. Routine adjustments and minor repairs are far less expensive than the combined emergency service rates.

Air conditioning units can only operate at their maximum capability provided preventative maintenance is performed on a regular basis. Further, the manufacturers’ warranties will void if it is determined that preventative maintenance is not in place. Maintaining a preventative maintenance agreement will also ensure that your calls have “priority” over other as needed calls.

Please give us a call to schedule your next preventive maintenance appointment (310) 837-8000!!! Or you can email us at [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

The first electric fan was invented in 1886 by Schuyler Wheeler. This was revolutionary at the time, and quickly became the most popular way for people to cool down. It wasn't until after World War II that the air conditioner became easily available and replaced fans.

When your HVAC system is starting to have problems keeping your home cool, the issues isn’t always with your system. When the weather is consistently hitting the triple digits, the issue may be that too much hot air is seeping into your home through poorly insulated doors and windows.

01/28/2016

Air conditioners take advantage of a simple scientific principal to cool your home: When an element changes from a liquid to a gas, it absorbs heat. In the closed environment of your air conditioner, refrigerant is changing back and forth from a liquid to a gas (again and again and again) to keep you cool.

Annual servicing of your air conditioning unit will help keep things operating at top efficiency. A professional will be able to clean the unit, check for any clogged drain channels, and ensure that all seals are intact.

01/21/2016

Maintaining your HVAC system in your home is crucial for prolonging the life of the unit. If you hear an odd noise when the system turns on and off, or while it is running, you should turn the system off immediately, and call a professional.

Did you know that the concept of using air circulation to keep people cool goes back thousands of years? Back in 180 AD, an artisan in China named Ding Huan built a ten-foot fan with a crank that could cool an entire hall of people.

During the spring months when pollen counts are at their highest, your condensing unit can become dirty and clogged with particles. While hosing it of can help with external debris, it can take a service call to totally restore the inner workings.

01/12/2016

Your air conditioner system’s outer coils—the condenser—will become dirty, typically from oxidation and dust, which cannot be prevented. This dirt must be removed and the system must be maintained. A dirty system will typically cost 20-30 percent more in electrical costs annually, not to mention repair costs. Speak to your HVAC cooling professional to schedule regular maintenance for your cooling system.

01/07/2016

Many people ask how much a cooling system will cost. Many factors affect the cost of an HVAC system, including the size of your home, the type and condition of the ductwork installed, and accessories you might need such as a thermostat or an electronic air cleaner.
