The team working on the AVIATA Project — the collaborative drone system we’ve been developing with NASA’s support — has been throwing around the idea of creating a series of blog posts to give everyone updates on our project, and we’ve decided to kick that process off today!

Here’s the link to our first blog post, which contains an introduction to the software design work by Axel, an introduction to the mechanical design work by Bhrugu, and an introduction to how we came about this project in the first place: https://uasatucla.org/en/aviata/blog/09-18-2020

We hope everyone is having a good summer break! Our team has been working hard on developing an Autonomous Vehicle Infinite Air Time Apparatus (AVIATA) system, a swarm of drones with the ability to carry a payload in the air indefinitely, as part of NASA's University Student Research Challenge. In addition, we will be posting bi-weekly software and airframe blog updates! To bring our project to life, we need your help. So far, we have raised $2469 from our GoFundMe campaign and we are just $531 away from reaching our goal. Will you help us?

A huge shoutout to our amazing donors who have helped us reach 53% of our Spark goal so far—only 8 days left to raise $4,655! spark.ucla.edu/uas

In the words of our External VP Ryan Alexander, “No donation is too small or too large.” EVERY contribution counts and we are incredibly thankful for your support 💙
