☀️ What if sunlight could travel underground? Japan is turning that idea into reality. 🇯🇵💡
Imagine working, studying, or shopping several meters below the ground—yet still being illuminated by real daylight from the sun.
That’s the idea behind fiber-optic daylighting technology. A rooftop collector captures sunlight and channels it through specially designed optical fibers or light-guiding systems, delivering natural-looking illumination into spaces where traditional windows may not be possible.
The potential is fascinating: instead of relying entirely on electric lights in underground or windowless interiors, buildings could use available daylight as part of their lighting system.
