The average human produces between half a litre and 2 litres of intestinal gas every day and releases it in 10–20 individual events — whether they're aware of it or not. You fart in your sleep. You fart during surgery — anaesthesiologists note it.

People have farted during MRI scans, during important presentations, during job interviews, during s*x, during their own wedding ceremonies. You have been doing this your whole life. Every dignified moment you have ever had, your body was processing gas in the background. Your body is not on your side. It is simply managing a biological process and you are just along for the ride.

In 2016, an Indian expatriate living in Dubai named Mohammad Basheer experienced one of the strangest streaks of luck imaginable.

Before boarding Emirates Flight EK521 from India to Dubai, he purchased a Dubai Duty Free lottery ticket at the airport, something many travelers do on impulse without expecting much.

Hours later, the flight crash-landed at Dubai International Airport and burst into flames. Miraculously, all 300 people onboard survived after a chaotic emergency evacuation.

The dramatic incident made headlines worldwide because of the terrifying images of the burning aircraft and how narrowly passengers escaped death.

But Basheer’s story became even more unbelievable afterward. Not long after surviving the crash, he learned that the lottery ticket he had bought before boarding was actually a winning ticket worth about $1 million.

🦁 Meet Nzuri, the lion with the mane that made the internet stop scrolling.
Living in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, Nzuri became famous for his unusually wavy, curly mane that looks more like a salon masterpiece than wild lion fur. The stunning photos quickly went viral, with people around the world joking that he might just be the most handsome lion ever photographed.
Nature creates some incredible surprises—and Nzuri is definitely one of them.

Japanese researchers are conducting clinical trials of an experimental treatment designed to stimulate the growth of entirely new human teeth, a breakthrough that could dramatically reshape the future of dentistry. The therapy works by targeting biological mechanisms that normally prevent additional tooth development, potentially enabling patients to naturally regrow lost teeth rather than relying on dentures, bridges, or dental implants.

While the treatment remains in the research and testing phase, its potential impact is significant. Tooth loss affects millions of people worldwide as a result of injury, disease, genetic conditions, and aging. If proven safe and effective, regenerative tooth therapy could revolutionize dental care in much the same way that laser eye surgery transformed vision correction.

Researchers remain cautiously optimistic as clinical trials continue to assess the treatment’s safety, effectiveness, and long-term outcomes. Although widespread availability is still years away, the prospect of naturally regrowing human teeth represents one of the most promising advances in regenerative medicine and oral healthcare.

This story reportedly went viral in China after a woman claimed she was treated disrespectfully by staff at a Louis Vuitton store.

According to online reports, she later returned carrying around 600,000 yuan in cash, roughly $84,000, and asked employees to count the money by hand.

After making the staff spend nearly two hours counting stacks of bills, she allegedly walked out without buying anything.

High-end fashion brands are often criticized for judging customers based on appearance, clothing, or perceived wealth, especially in luxury shopping districts where status matters heavily.

This is the 1927 Solvay Conference, widely considered the most extraordinary gathering of scientific minds ever photographed. Of the 29 people in this image, 17 were Nobel Prize winners or would go on to become one. Einstein is seated in the front row. Niels Bohr, Max Planck, Werner Heisenberg, Erwin SchrĂśdinger, Paul Dirac are all present. The photograph was taken at a moment when quantum mechanics was being actively argued into existence by the people standing in it.

Marie Curie is the only woman. She had already won two Nobel Prizes by the time this photograph was taken, in two completely separate scientific disciplines. Physics in 1903 for her research on radiation, and Chemistry in 1911 for the discovery of polonium and radium. No one in the history of the Nobel Prize has matched that. Not Einstein. Not anyone else in this photograph.

She did this while being systematically excluded from institutions that refused to admit women. The French Academy of Sciences rejected her membership application, despite her being the most decorated scientist in the world at the time. The vote was close but the answer was no.

She ran her own laboratory with equipment she largely funded herself. During the First World War she developed mobile X-ray units called petites Curies, small Curies, and personally drove them to the front lines to help surgeons treat wounded soldiers. She trained over 150 female radiologists.

She died from aplastic anaemia caused by decades of radiation exposure. The notebooks she worked in are still so radioactive they are stored in lead-lined boxes in Paris. Researchers who wish to view them must sign a waiver acknowledging the risk.

One woman. One room full of the greatest minds of the 20th century. More Nobel Prizes than anyone else there.

She was the most qualified person in that photograph and the only one they almost didn't let in.

The honey badger (Mellivora capensis) is arguably one of nature's most formidable survivors, possessing extraordinary adaptations that allow it to thrive in harsh environments across Africa and parts of Asia.

Its remarkable dietary flexibility is matched by its fearlessness—honey badgers regularly consume porcupines despite their sharp quills, and prey on venomous snakes, including cobras and black mambas.

Their thick, loose skin protects against both stings and bites, while specialized immunity grants them resistance to various toxins.

When raiding beehives, they withstand numerous stings to access their favorite treat, giving them their common name despite their closer relation to weasels than true badgers.

Beyond their dietary boldness, honey badgers display exceptional intelligence and opportunistic behavior.

They have been documented harassing larger predators like lions to steal kills and using tools to escape complex enclosures. While an internet rumor claims they "kidnap cheetah cubs as a strategic hunting lure," this is a bit of a wildlife myth.

In reality, honey badgers will opportunistically prey on young cubs if left unprotected, but the connection between the two species is actually visual: baby cheetahs are born with a silver-white mane (a mantle) along their backs, which evolutionary biologists believe mimics the distinct coloration of a honey badger to ward off predators who know better than to mess with them.

Their reputation for tenacity is well-earned—weighing just 15 to 30 pounds, they regularly intimidate animals several times their size through aggressive displays and an absolute unwillingness to back down from a confrontation.

This combination of physical adaptations, intelligence, and sheer audacity has earned them recognition as one of the most successful small carnivores on the planet.

This sink design looks simple at first, but one small change completely fixes a problem people deal with every single day. Based on a viral photo that is spreading across the internet. The shape gives more space to stand comfortably without awkward bending or hitting your feet against the base. A tiny design upgrade turned an ordinary bathroom sink into something surprisingly smart. It is the kind of idea that makes people wonder why nobody thought of it much earlier.
