What started as a foundation repair turned into an opportunity to add 1,200 square feet of usable space. 👀

This Silver Lake home already required deep caissons extending roughly 18 to 25 feet to stabilize the structure. With that work already underway, we helped the homeowner take advantage of the opportunity to build out a full basement and create significantly more usable space within the property.

Sometimes, necessary structural work can open the door to something bigger.

What does a soft-story retrofit look like? 👀

For multifamily buildings with open ground floors or tuck-under parking, retrofits can include steel moment frames and grade beams to strengthen the first story and improve seismic performance.

Registration is open through September 30. Once accepted into the program, Alpha Structural can help with the engineering, permitting and construction needed for the retrofit.
