Dear Friends of RoMeLa;

We are working hard day and night in the lab and on the UCLA soccer filed to train our robot for RoboCup, the International robot soccer competition. RoboCup 2023 will be held in Bordeaux, France this July and our team is trying to raise funds through the UCLA SPARK Campaign for our team to travel to the competition and to build the second robot.

We are currently at 63% towards our goal and we only have 4 days left!

ALPHRED2
: Autonomous Legged Personal Helper Robot with Enhanced Dynamics

Unofficial video of RoMeLa's newest robot ALPHRED2.
ALPHRED2 is a multi-modal locomotion robot that can walk with 4 legs, 2 legs, hop, run, roll, and even use it's limbs for picking up objects or pushing buttons. It is fast at 1.5 m/s (unofficially, it once ran at 2 m/s) and can walk stably on uneven rough terrain. ALPHRED2 is powered by RoMeLa's BEAR (Back-drivable Electromechanical Actuator for Robots) actuators which is compliant and force controlled.
