Here’s a neat top-secret project we’re working on—a custom billet intake manifold with a twin-injector design.
What’s particularly interesting is the injector placement. On most conventional intake manifolds, the injector is positioned high in the runner, and the fuel spray often impacts the floor of the runner. When that happens, the finely atomized fuel can re-form into larger droplets, which is less than ideal for combustion efficiency.
This design takes a different approach. The injectors are positioned with a direct line of sight to the back of the intake valve, allowing the fuel to stay atomized longer and reducing the chance of fuel dropout. The result is improved fuel distribution, more efficient combustion, and potentially better power, throttle response, and overall engine efficiency.
It’s a very trick piece, and we’re excited to see what kind of results it produces.
