You can have great plans, a solid schedule, all of it. But none of that matters if no one’s actually there when questions come up or something doesn’t look right.

Being on site is how you catch the small stuff before it turns into big stuff. It’s noticing when something feels off before it’s technically wrong. It’s talking things through with the trades in real time, adjusting when the house tells you something different than the drawings did, and making sure shortcuts never become the default.

That’s how you protect the work, and how a house stays solid long after the photos are taken.

Most of the work we do leans modern, and for good reason. It fits how a lot of people live right now. But every once in a while, a project comes along where the draw isn’t clean lines or minimal finishes, it’s the details that take a little more time and a little more care to execute properly.

These clients had seen our past work and recognized the level of attention that traditional elements require. Things like proportions, trim profiles, how openings are treated, how everything lines up once walls start opening and nothing is perfectly straight anymore. From a builder’s standpoint, that kind of work only works when everyone involved respects the process and the craft behind it. And that is our bread and butter. 🍞🧈

This Studio City home started as a 2018 builder-grade house and became something entirely custom. Together, we brought our client’s Japandi-inspired vision to life. This home now features layered wood tones, warm neutrals, and spaces that feel calm but full of character.

The highlight is a custom-built bar inspired by Art Deco design and the golden age of Hollywood. It’s moody, detailed, and built for memorable nights in.

Day one at The Buffalo Project and the demo is just getting started.

This home already has a ton of character, and the best part is the clients want to keep it. We just get to make it even better.

The existing layout works for their family, so we’ll only have to tweak a few things like carving out a true laundry room, and opening up some of the guest rooms by removing built-ins that aren’t working. The real magic is going to be in the details. It will be a traditional-style home with intricate millwork, and molding that wraps the entire home.

Demo day has its own kind of honesty. Nothing to hide, and nothing is polished. There is just real work beginning.

You hear every step of progress. Built-ins coming out, walls opening up, old materials making their way to the dumpster. It’s the part of the job most people never see, but it’s where a project actually starts to take shape.
