Lights around trees don’t hurt them….at first! If you wrap lights around trees, make a point to take them before they begin to constrict the trees.

This was in city of Santa Monica. There were about 5 of them on San Vicente and I was already late. So I got 1. If you guys can tell where this was, send the video to the building owners so they’ll step up and get things cleaned up properly. They figured out how to get the lights UP there, they can figure out the cleanup, too!

This tree was hit by a truck. It could have been saved using basic arborist concepts. Instead the city chose to lie to the local residents, use police force to push back the residents, and cut it down to an embarrassing stump.

If you want to see the stump for yourself, it’s in the Palisades, on La Cruz less than a block south of Sunset. Post a video and tag me on it.
