How do we know Jaspr works? Air is typically invisible to the naked eye, and yet we’re breathing in particulate every day. So how do we know the air is clean?

One of the first things we do any time we deliver a Jaspr in person is run our 3 step air test. We use an Extech VPC260 to check particulate levels before and after Jaspr is installed.

First, we test ambient outdoor air to get a baseline of PM 0.3 to PM 10 levels.

Then, we take an indoor air test before installing Jaspr to gage whether or not levels are higher or lower than outside.

Then, we install Jaspr and let it run for 30 minutes before taking another sample in the same location.

We often see 5-10x fewer particulate levels in the air in just about 30 minutes. If we come back later, the air tends to be even cleaner.

While the test cannot identify the source of the particulate (pollen, allergens, mold, voc’s etc), reduced particulate in the air means that there is less in your lungs, regardless of what it turns out to be.

This is one of our favorite things to do - because we’re air nerds. So if you see us out and about looking at an Extech, now you know what’s up.

It’s important to visually see improvements in numbers when you invest in air filtration, and this test is one of the best ways to do that.

We’ve been thinking and talking about this day for a long time, and now that it’s finally here, we couldn’t be more excited.

What’s the point of building a business if you don’t use it to build the world you want to live in?

Over the last year, we’ve been investing in Kindling Academy with the goal of creating the healthiest school in America.

Clean air. Clean water. Circadian Rhythm Lighting. Beautiful spaces. Incredible teachers. A school designed with real intention around the health and development of the kids inside it.

This is so much bigger than putting air scrubbers in classrooms.

It’s an opportunity to learn what happens when you take the environment seriously and to build something that other schools and communities can learn from.

I believe businesses can be vehicles for change when we’re willing to put our money where our mouth is.
