Green Energy in California
-
Recent CA law requires all new homes to have Solar starting in 2020. This law will drive the existing home remodeling market to adopt Solar for competitive reasons. 2018 CA Renewable Energy bill requires 60% of the states energy to be from renewable sources by 2030 and 100% by 2045. Solar on new homes will help towards this goal, but only 80-100K homes are built each year, while there are around 9 million existing homes. Converting existing residential would meet this goal almost single-handedly! There are also various Green Energy incentives, by market, across CA. External market factors, like Blockchain and AI can be used for decentralized energy generation and distribution.

Home Water Conservation
-
Much of California is arid and subject to frequent droughts. Consumer water conservation requirements inevitably follow extended droughts. Increasing average temperatures will also increase the likelihood of droughts. Recent CA Water Efficiency Legislation targets 55 gallon daily per person until 2025, 52.5 gallons from 2025-2030, and 50 gallons beginning in 2030.
Residential home water use reduction and reclamation technology is relatively mature, and can result in reducing home water consumption by more than 50%. The US Government’s Energy Star program qualifies water consumption efficiency for appliances. There is existing consumer demand for these systems. It is estimated that there are more than 1.2 million illegal Greywater Systems in CA. Many modern homes are equipped with some form of Greywater, and or Rainwater Capture systems. CA Law provides for numerous options for legal Greywater and Rainwater collection systems.

Residential Solar Power in California
-
We have a tremendous opportunity for increased residential solar power in California. There are approximately 9 million single family homes in CA. Less than 10% of these homes currently have any form of Solar Power. If all single family homes in CA were converted to Solar, more than 100% of their energy needs would be met. Solar technology has crossed the tipping-point, where the cost of installation is significantly less than the benefit of the energy generated by these systems. The cost of solar systems is predicted to decline steadily over the next 10 years, while the efficiency of the panels continues to increase. Battery Storage technology now allows excess energy to be stored for use at night and during low-sun days; this technology continues to improve performance, while prices are declining. The increased adoption of Electric Vehicles complements Solar Power, as EVs can be charged with Solar, thus eliminating virtually all greenhouse gasses emitted. Additionally, advances in micro-grid power management and energy company support, enable the purchase and distribution of excess energy generated by residential solar systems.
