Shop Technicians work in one or more of the following functional areas: Warehousing, Saw/CNC, Fabrication, Assembly, Glazing and Packaging. The Technician will read basic construction drawings and check their work to ensure quality. They may also perform routine mechanical assembly work involving the adjustment, trimming, and fitting of parts to moderately close tolerances using power hand tools or machines.
Qualifications of the Shop Technician:
Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be dependable and have a proven history of consistently delivering quality results. This position requires interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment and be able to learn new skills quickly. The best candidate would be a team player who is dependable, detail-oriented and committed to quality and accuracy.

The H. Carl Moultrie Courthouse in Washington, D.C.'s Superior Court and the Court of Appeals recently had an upgrade to 291 of their window openings with ballistic rated sunshades; 136 units of two-story unitized curtainwall with approximately 13,000 square feet with sunshades were also installed. Eskenazi Museum of Art can be found on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington. Strong Tower fabricated and glazed the custom oversized windows at its Fabrication Facility in Louisville, KY. Coordination and teamwork were key in maneuvering these large windows through the fabrication, shipping, and installation process.

Core Spaces brings luxury to the student housing experience at the University of Kentucky. Offering a wide range of high-end amenities, these two off-campus, multi-use structures were developed with the well-balanced student in mind. Strong Tower’s first contract with Wells and Wells Construction Company, Inc. included the entrance and storefront systems and shower doors at Hub I. Joining Well and Wells Construction Company, Inc. on a second Hub project, Strong Tower was contracted for the entrance and storefront system, again, on Hub II. Re-imagining Winslow Street, the University of Kentucky announced the demolition of the existing structure at this prime location on UK’S campus and the construction of a new, mixed-use parking garage in its place. The completed 7 seven-story project, now known as The Cornerstone, significantly increased parking on campus by adding 900 new parking spaces. The ground floor, consisting of 23,000 square feet of mixed-use space now offers a hub of endless innovative possibilities for students, faculty, staff, and the community. F.A. Wilhelm Construction awarded the glazing contract to Strong Tower. The result is a beautiful structure in Lexington, KY.

Madison Square Medpace Campus is a mixed-use development prominently located in the Madisonville neighborhood of Cincinnati, OH.

Strong Tower produced in-house all Shop Drawings and Fabrication specifications. EFCO Corporation extrusions were shipped to Strong Tower’s headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky where each frame was assembled to specification. These frames were wrapped and transported to the project site for installation into the building. The total square footage of glass was 64,235 square feet.
