🚧Under Construction: This 42,500 SF Butler® addition for NEDCON, a Voestalpine Corporation in Shelbyville, KY is currently under construction to support our client's expanded fabrication of conveyor systems. The focus now is on keeping sequencing, access, and building systems aligned so the space comes together as designed. With insulated roof and wall systems, dock access, and drive-in ramps all being integrated, the goal is a quality facility that will be ready to support production later this year.

Dock layout directly impacts how a distribution facility performs. Door placement, circulation, and area staging either keeps trailers moving or slows them down, and when that balance is right, the operation runs steady without unnecessary delays in distribution. Butler® building systems support that kind of efficiency by providing clear spans and coordinated components that allow the space to function as intended, both during construction and once the building is in use.

Butler® clear‑span structural systems reduce interior columns, giving owners more flexibility to adapt layouts as equipment and operations evolve. It’s a practical advantage for facilities that need room to change over time.

This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We remember their sacrifice and the legacy of service they leave behind. WE also want to honor the second generation of our company, Stanley F. Lichtefeld. The company would not be here today if Stanley didn't leave the Navy with an honorable discharge to keep the family business going after his father suffered a heart attack in 1945. Construction schedules depend on more than jobsite productivity. Long‑lead materials like steel and major equipment often determine how soon work can realistically move forward. Early planning helps account for those constraints and keeps timelines more predictable.

A planning conversation about your project now can help set realistic expectations before schedules are locked in. Reach out to talk with our team: (502) 589-4777.

Energy savings are only part of the story. Butler® insulation systems also manage condensation, helping protect temperature‑sensitive products and precision equipment. That level of control supports more reliable operations and fewer building‑related issues over time.

🚧Project Update: 44 Auto Mart | Shepherdsville, KY

Construction is in the final stages at 44 Auto Mart’s fourth dealership location, with the building nearing completion. This project is a true sample of Design-Build as it transforms from paper to new visions. The owners are very involved in the design change. This project has had many alterations to the floor plan and the overall exterior design as it comes alive in real time on site. Here are a few recent photos of the construction progress.

The 29,018‑square‑foot, two‑story Butler® building includes office space, a showroom, covered vehicle display, and a full-service shop—designed to support continued growth as demand for pre‑owned vehicles increases.

As the project takes shape, it will be exciting to see this facility move from early planning to a finished space ready to serve customers this spring.

This project is a collaborative effort between Lichtefeld, Inc., Trapani Architects, Butler Manufacturing™, as well as the owners of the project. Changing on the fly without affecting the end date on the schedule is our forté.

Construction safety starts long before crews step on site. Butler® building systems are engineered for consistency and accuracy, helping teams plan sequences, connections, and installation with fewer unknowns. That predictability supports safer ex*****on in the field—especially when managing high‑energy construction activities. Thoughtful, well-planned engineering plays a real role in keeping jobsites safer.

Lichtefeld, Inc. uses third-party safety auditors for jobsite safety, which removes any opportunity for biased opinion when it comes to day-to-day work on site.
