It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Keith Baker, a recently retired Superintendent with WEHR Constructors.

Keith retired in 2025 after 12 years of dedicated service to WEHR. Through his talent, leadership, and commitment to excellence, he contributed to many meaningful projects across Kentucky and in our Florida market. In Kentucky, Keith played an important role in projects including the Henry County Library, Wayside Christian Mission, Norton Healthcare, Baptist Health, Kathryn Winn Primary School, and most recently, the West Tower at UofL Hospital.

Keith’s infectious smile, dedication to his work, and his skill left a lasting impact on our company, our project teams, and the communities we serve. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Keith’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home in New Castle, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the start of the service.

Please join us in keeping Keith’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

Lord, we thank You for Keith’s life, his work, and the joy he brought to those around him. Please bring peace, comfort, and strength to his family and all who are grieving during this difficult time. Amen.

We had the pleasure of sponsoring the SkillsUSA Kentucky 2026 Facilithon! This event is an introductory competition and leadership opportunity designed to introduce high school and technical students to careers in Facility Management. The competition evaluates students on their problem-solving and operational skills and puts them in contact with various companies and corporations within the industry.

It’s not every day we talk about demolition instead of construction, but the history behind this building that could not be salvaged is kind of cool. Plus - now it’s a beautiful green space for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth community and their visitors who walk the historic campus regularly. 🌳 ☀️ 🏗️

It was a true honor to partner with UofL Health with the addition of the new UofL Hospital West Tower.

The seven-story tower includes a 24-bed observation unit, six additional operating rooms as well as the option for more private beds throughout the remainder of the hospital. It also holds the infrastructure to accommodate two more floors for future growth. Alongside the increased medical space, visitors find a new two-story atrium, surgical waiting area, and chapel.

A special thanks to the Kentucky chapter of the Association of Medical Facility Professionals for hosting an incredible and informative discussion with leadership at Norton Healthcare on the 150-acre Pediatric Campus located in Jeffersontown, KY. 🏥

We heard from Norton’s CEO, Russ Cox, Lynnie Meyer RN EdD CFRE FAHP and Senior VP Renee Murphy as they detailed their design for this innovative campus. It was inspiring to hear firsthand from the Norton leadership team about the positive impact this project will have on the community. 🎈

Our team was proud to host teachers for a tour of the new West Hardin Middle School, giving them a firsthand look at the progress on their future campus.

Walking through the building and seeing their excitement reinforced the importance of this project. WEHR is honored to have the opportunity to build a place where students learn, grow, and succeed for years to come. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with the educators who will soon call this building home and look forward to bringing their vision to life! 📚 🍎 ✨
