So you need a CMM moved… what happens next?
We get asked this quite a bit, so here’s the process from the first phone call until your machine is back up and running.
1️⃣ Give us a call.
Tell us what machine you have, where it’s located, where it’s going and when it needs to move. We’ll ask a few questions about access, loading/unloading, machine size and any special requirements.
2️⃣ We build the plan.
We coordinate the schedule, transportation, rigging and equipment needed on both ends. The goal is simple: you shouldn’t have to coordinate four different companies just to move one machine.
3️⃣ Decommission & prep.
We arrive on-site and properly prepare the CMM for relocation. This includes installing the appropriate shipping/bracing components, securing moving components and getting the machine ready to safely leave the facility.
4️⃣ Pack & protect.
The machine is properly protected, wrapped and secured for transportation based on the equipment and type of move.
5️⃣ Load & transport.
We coordinate loading and transport to the new facility. Local move or several states away — we follow the machine through the process.
6️⃣ Unload & setup.
Once it arrives, the machine is unloaded, positioned, unpacked and shipping restraints are removed. We then prepare it to return to service.
7️⃣ Accredited re-certification.
After relocation and setup, the machine is inspected and re-certified with proper documentation so you have what you need for your quality system and audits.
8️⃣ Back to work.
Once everything checks out, documentation is delivered and your machine is ready to go back into production.
