has emerged as one of Colorado’s leading commercial Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Plumbing Contractors. We design, install, service and maintain equipment including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, roof top units and building control systems. We have been the mechanical contractor on over 1 billion square feet of office buildings, schools, multi-unit high-rise residential,
hospitals, laboratories, data centers and manufacturing facilities in the Rocky Mountain Region. Headquartered in Louisville, Colorado we perform most of our work in the Colorado and southern Wyoming area, although we have the capability and licensing to perform work in any of the surrounding states. Design Mechanical merged with Comfort Systems USA, Inc. Comfort Systems USA is the nation’s largest commercial mechanical contractor with annual revenues exceeding $1.5 billion annually. In addition to the financial backing of a large public corporation, the merger enabled Design Mechanical to tap into the expertise and experience of many companies to further improve and expand the services we offer. In January of 2002 Design Mechanical took over the operations of Helm Corporation, another Comfort Systems company located in Denver, which performed over $10 million annually of mainly plan & spec mechanical projects. Helm Corporation increased Design Mechanical’s abilities in the prefabrication of plumbing and piping systems. In September of 2003, Colorado Plumbing Service (another Comfort Systems Company) merged into Design Mechanical. This merger opened a new market, the mountains, to Design Mechanical as well as increased the services and capabilities the customers of Colorado Plumbing were accustomed to receiving. In 2007, Western Building Services (another Comfort Systems Company) was merged into Design Mechanical. This merger streamlined all the service capabilities of the two separate operations into one location. In 2010, we acquired Breckenridge Mechanical and continue to operate the division under that name with an office in Breckenridge, Colorado. The division provides plumbing and HVAC service to the Summit County market. On January 1, 2015 we were excited to acquire Rocky Mountain Mechanical Systems located in Denver, Colorado. Rocky Mountain Mechanical Systems background in industrial refrigeration and experience with the installation, maintenance and service of larger chiller systems added new capabilities to Design Mechanical. This makes Design Mechanical one of the most complete mechanical contractors in the state of Colorado with annual revenues exceeding $65 million and over 300 employees. Rocky Mountain Mechanical, similar to Breckenridge Mechanical continues to operate under its existing name as a division of Design Mechanical, Inc.
