Great review from Alistaire... "Kelter Cooling and Heating installed a new air conditioner unit for me in August 2026. They provided different options and explained the pros and cons of each option.
They are responsive and efficient, and the installed price was reasonable. They have been providing service for our ac units ( we have two) for the past 8 years. Highly recommend kelter."

☀️ IT’S SUMMER IN SOUTH FLORIDA — YOUR A/C IS WORKING OVERTIME! ❄️

A NEW A/C DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN A PERFECTLY COOL HOUSE.

Your air-conditioning system is only one part of the equation when it comes to keeping your home comfortable.

When a new A/C system is installed, it is still connected to your home’s existing ductwork and must operate within your home's conditions.

Several things can affect how well your home cools:

🏠 Existing ductwork — Leaks, poor design, restricted airflow, or older ductwork can affect how evenly rooms cool.

🪟 Windows & doors — Older windows, poor seals, and direct sunlight can allow a significant amount of heat into your home.

🚪 Going in & out — Every time an exterior door opens, hot, humid South Florida air enters the home. Heavy traffic can make it harder for your A/C to maintain the set temperature.

☀️ Extreme outdoor temperatures — During the hottest part of summer, your system may run much longer than normal. That’s not necessarily a sign something is wrong.

🏡 Insulation & the home itself — Insulation, ceiling height, sun exposure, and even which direction your home faces can affect indoor temperatures.

🌡️ Thermostat expectations — Setting your thermostat lower doesn’t make the A/C cool faster. During extreme heat, maintaining very low indoor temperatures may simply not be realistic for every home.

SOMETIMES WE CHECK AN A/C AND FIND NOTHING WRONG.

The refrigerant pressures are correct.
The temperature split is good.
The equipment is operating properly.
The A/C is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

The issue may be the amount of heat entering the home — not the A/C itself.

❄️ Your A/C can only cool the air it receives, and the entire home plays a role in how comfortable you feel.

If the heat makes you swelter… Call Kelter! ☀️❄️
