B&J Welding Supply has an immediate opening for a Propane Route Delivery Driver to deliver to the Lubbock, Kent, and Garza county areas. The essential responsibilities for this position will be to ensure that propane is loaded correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. This position requires that you have excellent customer service skills and punctuality. The ideal candidate must be safety-conscious and adhere to road safety rules.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver propane to residential and commercial locations
• When delivering products maintain meaningful customer contact.
• Work to meet a customer’s delivery time.
• Adhere to Vehicle Pre-Checks prior to each shift.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Correct any safety issue or problem effectively and efficiently.
• Load all necessary items as required to conduct deliveries.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from delivery trucks.
• Ability to operate necessary loading machinery such as forklifts, etc.
• Create sales tickets and complete route sales as appropriate.
• Check open orders to ensure all orders are delivered.
• Ensure daily that the Propane Delivery Truck is maintained, cleaned and in operating condition.
• Keep the maintenance log of the truck up to date and conduct maintenance checks as required.
• Perform other duties as required and directed that fall within the scope of the Company’s purposes and direction.
Qualifications
•High School Diploma or Equivalent
•Previous delivery experience preferred
•Knowledge of Welding Supply and Gas Operation (Preferred but not required)
•1-3 Years of Safety Experience related to Supply and Gas Operations
•Problem solving and analytical processes
•Excellent verbal communication skills
•Punctual and Dependable
•Training as directed by Supervisor to include Propane Training
•Valid Class B CDL (commercial driver's license) required
•Ability to operate in adverse weather conditions, including off road.
•Ability to abide by all DOT rules and regulations.
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals and reports.
•Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
•Consistently demonstrates cooperative, team-oriented behavior.
•Safety conscious and understand safe work practices for operating in the oil and gas field and on the road.
