From day one, our team asked one question: How do we design a space that truly serves the people who need it most?

That question shaped everything we did for the Food Bank of West Central Texas' expanded facility in Abilene. From the flow of the building to the feeling visitors experience when they walk through the doors, every decision was made with the community at the center, creating a space that balances efficiency with a genuine sense of welcome.

A drive-thru pantry, expanded services, and an environment designed to invite people in—this is what Building Community looks like.

Yesterday, Eric James traveled in from Fort Worth to officially tour the WTU Power Plant prior to the kick-off meeting yesterday.

We are excited, grateful, and ready to masterplan with Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc. on our WTU study.
Mr. James has assembled a dream team of seven that we will be introducing over the next few weeks, including a civil engineer, landscape architect, et al.

Parkhill congratulates Claire Tulloch, CCM, NCIDQ, LEED AP ID+C, on being honored with the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) North Texas Legacy Award. Claire is the Immediate Past President of the CMAA North Texas Chapter. This award recognizes an individual whose contributions, leadership, and influence have helped shape this chapter and the construction management community across North Texas.

Team members Imad Zaoude, PE, Chris Mundell, AIA, LEED AP, Mildred Bautista Perez, PE, and Mark Haberer, PE, also attended the CMAA North Texas Chapter Awards & Scholarship Gala, which celebrated leadership, professional excellence, and the future of the construction management industry.

For nearly 50 years, Midland Community Theatre's Cole Theatre has been a home for the arts in West Texas — and now, it's warming up for the next 50. Parkhill is supporting the renovation of this Frank Welch design, expanding the lobby into a versatile space built to bring people together in support and appreciation of the arts.

Designed to serve audiences and performers, the expanded facility includes the larger lobby, enhanced concessions, a gift shop, and an outdoor patio. Beneath the new lobby, 3,250 square feet of classroom and workspace will support theater education and production activities.

School may be out for the summer, but construction for Greenwood ISD's Elementary and Intermediate Schools is still in session!

The new schools will be completed and ready to welcome faculty, staff, and students for the fall 2026 semester. Both schools are located on the same campus, with mirror-image designs. The elementary school serves kindergarten through second grade, and the intermediate school serves third through fifth grade. Each has a design capacity of more than 1,000 students.

The Midland Airpark Airfield Improvements project has earned the National Recognition Award following the Silver Award in the Special Projects category at the 2026 Texas Engineering Excellence Awards. Parkhill's Aviation Team received the national award at the 2026 ACEC National Engineering Excellence Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. We are honored to be recognized for engineering excellence among teams nationwide whose vision and talent drove transformative engineering projects.

The grand opening of the G.V. Daniels and Cesar Chavez Recreation Centers mark a major milestone for Abilene, Texas, expanding access to new recreational opportunities across the community.

Built to replace two aging facilities, these centers give Abilene residents something they truly deserve: modern, accessible spaces where kids can play, seniors can gather, families can stay active, and the whole community can grow together.

From the early stages of pre-design through construction, Parkhill worked closely with the City of Abilene to ensure every decision — from the layout of the fitness areas to the flexibility of the classrooms and community spaces — reflected the real needs of the people who will use them every day.
