It's !

Lucedale linemen are bringing electric service to a new member's home on Man Moulds Road in Greene County.

Our staker met with this member and designed the service so that overhead lines bring power onto the property while underground lines run to the member's home to make it aesthetically pleasing. This is an example of our employees working with our members to reach a common goal.

By voting in our annual board of directors election, Singing River Electric members live out Cooperative Principle #2 – Democratic Member Control. This principle empowers our members to elect representatives who set policies and make key decisions that affect the entire cooperative. Member involvement during our election is also critical because we must meet a 10% quorum to conduct business at the annual meeting. Members can vote online via the “Vote Now” button on the SmartHub app and on singingriver.com or by returning their proxy which assigns their vote to the board of directors or another Singing River Electric member - Tuesday, June 16, is the last day for both. Candidate biographies are available on our online voting site.

Members who vote online or return their proxy by the deadline will have a chance to win one of two $500 cash prizes or one of six $250 cash prizes.

For more details on how to cast your vote, visit singingriver.com/2026-board-of-directors-election.

It's !

Sand Hill linemen are upgrading single-phase lines on St. Ellen Road in Leakesville to three-phase lines to increase capacity for future development in the area. Three-phase lines require taller, higher-class poles, and our linemen often frame or attach the necessary hardware to multiple poles and return to set the poles and upgrade the lines.

On this day in 1936, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Rural Electrification Act, which provided federal, low-cost loans for electric cooperatives to build electric distribution systems in rural America. Two years later, local farmers met at the George County Courthouse in Lucedale to form Singing River Electric, and we began providing reliable and affordable power to the communities we continue serving today.
