It's !

Singing River Electric linemen attended training for pole top and aerial device rescue this week and worked on improving response times in case a fellow lineman is in distress while working on a power pole. While they inspect their climbing gear before each climb, their harnesses and climbing gear are inspected annually during this training to ensure they meet safety requirements.

Singing River Electric employees showed concern for community at the annual Renew Our Rivers event at Little River Marina where we teamed up with Mississippi Power and Singing River Federal Credit Union!

We pulled TVs, refrigerators, styrofoam, cans and bottles filling countless trash bags, and more from the Pascagoula River system.

This is one of our favorite events and we are happy to give back to the communities (and ecosystems!) we serve.

Our Cooperative Month celebration continues as Journeyman Dempsey Dunaway read “Cat & Duck and the Electric Cooperative” to Sand Hill School kindergarteners today and shared how cooperatives care about their communities.

In the book, Duck explains to Cat that cooperatives “…help with local programs and events, help those in need, and they even visit schools to teach students about the importance of electric safety.”

Singing River Electric shows concern for community through our Neighbors Helping Neighbors Community Grant Program, employee volunteer service projects, and youth programs such as Cooperative Youth Leaders and safety city presentations.

We're always proud of our linemen and the work they do, but it hits different when the people whose power is restored after a hurricane see them in action and show their appreciation. Brandon, Tanner, and Timmothy: thank you for doing excellent work for CHELCO members and representing Singing River Electric so well!

Thanks for all those who helped after , especially these lineman. We were some of the last homes in to get power, which came back on today. This crew came in from Mississippi. Singing River Electric

Our linemen are doing their part in Walton County, Fla. to reduce the number of power outages for Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CHELCO) - now fewer than 2,000 accounts compared to 71,000 when storm restoration began. Great progress and news for their members!

Mississippi’s hunting season is still underway! Always use safe hunting practices and never shoot toward power lines, fiber internet lines, or poles. By hunting away from our right-of-way, you can protect our linemen who may be working in the area.
