Another driveway brought back to life!

This existing limestone driveway had developed low spots and potholes over time from natural settling and traffic wear. Instead of just throwing new rock on top, we took the proper approach to fix it the right way.

We started by regrading the entire driveway, cutting down below the bottom of the potholes to eliminate the problem areas completely, not just cover them up. Once a solid, consistent grade was established, we brought in fresh limestone base and capped it off to rebuild the surface and restore proper elevation.

The result is a smooth, properly structured driveway built to last, not one that’ll fall apart after the next good rain.

If your driveway is starting to show signs of wear, don’t waste money band-aiding it. Fix it the right way the first time.

Another Project Completed for a Returning Customer!

One of the best compliments a contractor can get is a repeat phone call from a customer years later. This client originally trusted us with work on his property several years ago, and recently reached back out to expand his parking area for his growing fleet of vehicles.

He liked the performance of asphalt millings so much the first time that he specifically requested we use them again for this new driveway and parking area.

The property owner had already completed the initial dirt work and grading ahead of time, which allowed us to come in and focus on building a strong, long-lasting surface.

Our process included:

• Rolling out commercial-grade geotextile stabilization fabric across the prepared subgrade
• Hauling in multiple loads of recycled asphalt millings
• Grading and shaping the driveway and parking area
• Compacting everything with a vibratory roller compactor to create a tight, durable surface designed to handle vehicle traffic for years to come

You may notice the driveway stops just short of the road. That part wasn’t an oversight. The county is responsible for installing the culvert, and they had been taking their time getting to it. They eventually installed the culvert and tied directly into the driveway we installed.

We appreciate customers who trust us enough to call us back again. It means a lot, and we’re always glad to help improve their property as their needs grow.

If you’re considering a new driveway, parking area, or upgrading an existing one, asphalt millings are a durable and cost-effective option that continues to prove itself on projects like this.

🄵🅄🄽 🄵🄰🄲🅃 🄵🅁🄸🄳🄰🅈:

The number one reason gravel driveways fail isn’t the rock… it’s what’s underneath it. Topsoil and organic material hold moisture, stay soft, and continue to break down over time. That leads to ruts, potholes, and constant repairs.

Take a look at these photos. Notice the clear color difference in the dirt. The darker material piled up on the side is the organic topsoil we stripped off. The lighter, more solid ground you see in the grade is what we build on. That’s the difference between a driveway that lasts and one that starts sinking the first good rain.

That’s why we remove that layer completely and strongly encourage the use of geotextile fabric before any rock goes down. It creates a separation layer that keeps your base from sinking into the soil, adds stability, improves drainage, and dramatically increases the life of your driveway.

At Lone Star Land Improvements, this is a step we refuse to skip. A long-lasting driveway starts with a proper foundation, not just a load of gravel. If it’s built right the first time, you won’t be paying to have it fixed later… which is more than can be said for the “throw rock on top of the grass and hope for the best” method.

If you’re ready for a gravel driveway built the right way so it lasts for years to come, contact Lone Star Land Improvements, LLC the gravel driveway experts.

🌲 From Overgrown to Opportunity — Another Property Reclaimed 🚜

This one started out as a thick, overgrown mess that you couldn’t hardly walk through, much less build on. After some seat time and a lot of dirt work, we turned it into something this customer can finally use.

We cleared out the underbrush and unwanted trees, opened the whole place up, and brought it back where you can actually see the property again. Topped it off with a 36’ x 58’ house pad that’s leveled, shaped for drainage, and packed down ready for the next step.

Now instead of just owning a piece of land, they’ve got a place to start their homestead and make future plans.

This is the kind of work we love doing. Taking something that’s grown up and forgotten about and turning it into clean, usable ground again.

If your property looks like the “before” pictures, give us a call and let’s fix that.
