Building together means investing in the people who make our industry stronger. Next week, UMC’s Nicole Patchett, Lacey Neubauer and Teresa Hinton will head to Houston, TX, for the Tradeswomen Build Nations Conference, joining women representing the PNW and tradeswomen from across the country.

The conference is an opportunity to learn from one another, build connections, and bring new ideas back to the jobsite and our industry. We’re proud to have this group contributing to a growing community helping shape the future of the skilled trades.

Wastewater treatment facilities are essential to protecting public health, our environment, and our communities. Keeping these critical systems running requires technical expertise, careful coordination, and the ability to work safely in active facilities. At UMC, we partner with municipalities, utilities, and industrial owners on complex water and wastewater projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, with experience at West Point, Oak Harbor, Lynden, and SeaTac Airport’s Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant, among others.

🏌️A big shoutout to all of our UMCCF Annual Golf Scramble sponsors for helping make this day happen. We appreciate the support and can’t wait to put it to good use on and off the course.

A major milestone at Western State Hospital in Lakewood: crews have placed the final structural beam on Washington’s new forensic psychiatric hospital. UMC is proud to serve as the mechanical contractor, partnering with Clark Construction and the project team on this 350-bed facility, expected to open in 2028.

Behind the structure is an incredible amount of mechanical infrastructure. UMC crews have installed more than 267,000 feet of pipe (over 50 miles) along with 322,749 pounds of sheet metal duct.

As the project moves into its next phase, we’re proud to help build a facility that will expand Washington’s capacity for specialized behavioral health care for decades to come. Congratulations to the entire project team on this milestone!
