This orange solar array is a virtual axis system. You are looking at the reflection film by 3M pushing additional photons back at the silicon wafers (which you do not see) for additional output. This array pushed this apartment complex to become the first LEEDs platinum apartment complex in Maryland. Hence the apartment complex earned enough property tax abatement to pay for itself in 4 years. All energy, SRECs, depreciation, Federal Investment tax credits and goodwill came as profit. This apartment complex stays full with rents that are rising to meet public demand.

When the Dublin City School District in central Georgia broke ground on a new solar project earlier this month, school officials celebrated more than just sustainability. The new solar array, to be completed in June, will also save some serious, much-needed cash.

Over the next 25 years, the panels are expected to save the district $3.5 million, said Dublin City Schools Superintendent Chuck Ledbetter. By June 2014, Ledbetter expects the district will save $100,000 -- enough to cut the number of teacher furlough days from 10 to nine.
