DirecTV couldn't beat us, so they had the FCC completely screw the American public over by denying our bid to utilize higher power satellite technologies and we all ultimately lost our jobs while they purchased our assets. Yeah, I am still bitter. HISTORY:

PrimeStar was a U.S. direct broadcast satellite broadcasting company formed in 199

1 by a consortium of cable television system operators. PrimeStar was the first medium-powered DBS system in the United States but slowly declined in popularity due to the FCC denying them the ability to utilize higher power satellite technologies. (Wikipedia has it completely wrong folks. I guess, as they say, the winners get to rewrite history, huh?).
