Agrigenix will be closing its offices from noon on Friday 21st December until 8:00am on Wednesday 2nd January, so that our employees may celebrate Christmas and New Year with their families.

At the conclusion of our first full year in business, we wish to again thank our employees, our customers and our suppliers for helping us achieve a successful year.

The latest data for almond receipts by processors suggests that the almond harvest won't quite beat the 2017 record harvest, however demand remains strong, shipments are strong and there has been an uptick in pricing. All of that suggests a good year for almond producers.

Pistachio producers likewise could come close to the 2016 record crop, which is a great result given the poor outlook at the start of the season. There's considerable optimism for improved prices also for pistachios due to poor yields in Iran, strong international demand and low inventory at processors at harvest time.

Hopefully this all translates as a great year for San Joaquin Valley and California farmers.

We wish you all a safe, enjoyable and blessed Christmas and New Year.

The Agrigenix office will be closed in about 10 minutes time and will re-open on Monday morning.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We give thanks for a lot of people who have made this, our first year in business, quite successful. To our employees, our customers and our suppliers, thank you.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving and be safe.

Harvest is completed for many growers, though we still see some fields that are yet to complete second shake for pistachios.

We have some customer locations reporting record yields for grapes and nuts, which is simply outstanding considering the impact of the late freeze this year on nut crops.

Agrigenix is completing its post harvest applications of fertilizers using formulations aimed at strong root growth either side of the dormancy period.

The National Weather Service at Hanford has released its 3 month look ahead for temperatures, with 46% "above normal", 31% "near normal" and 26% "below normal".

https://w2.weather.gov/climate/calendar_outlook.php?wfo=hnx

Also attached is the 3-month precipitation outlook for December-January-February as projected in mid-October. It suggests equal chances for "above", "normal" and "below" for precipitations - which suggests an average precipitation year; at least at this point.

At Agrigenix, it's our crop advisors who take the time to research the latest information on crop management in the San Joaquin Valley and wider California agricultural areas. One of our sources of great agriculture information is the University of California's King's County Cooperative Extension service. http://cekings.ucanr.edu/

There's a great article published in this month's edition of "In A Nutshell" which talks about boron deficiency and toxicity. With such a wide variety of boron levels in different soils in the SJV, this article is well worth the read.
http://cekings.ucanr.edu/newsletters/Nut_Crops75997.pdf

After reading the article, if you want more information about how to manage boron using Agrigenix' Genesis micronutrients, then give us a call and ask to speak with Matt or Steven, our company's crop advisors.

Agrigenix, LLC now has 133 products in its range of liquid fertilizers. Why so many? In keeping with our philosophy of feeding precisely the nutrients that plants need, in exactly the right amounts, we continue to add customized blends of NPK and micro-nutrients for specific crops at specific stages of the life cycle. Almonds at planting, 2nd leaf, 3rd leaf etc. will require different nutrients and application rates to encourage strong root development which "primes the pump" for later years when the NPK and micro-nutrients are focused on leaf growth and nut development. So why use one type of fertilizer throughout? It's not necessary and it's also wasteful to include nutrients that aren't needed or used. We've found ways to custom blend products for our customers and make changes mid-season if necessary to ensure optimum nutrient usage and optimum cost of application; whether it is in response to adverse weather, different soil profiles or different irrigation water qualities.
