Every great project has a lot happening behind the scenes. We were proud to provide MEP engineering for this parking ramp, designing the systems that help the facility operate efficiently every day. From LED lighting, EV charging, emergency power and video surveillance, these behind-the-scenes systems create a modern parking ramp that's safe and user-friendly.
Congratulations to the entire project team on this new addition to downtown Cedar Rapids.
👏🏻👏🏻Parking just got a whole lot easier in Kingston Village!
It may take a minute for those of us who are used to parking right in front of wherever we’re going to adjust...but that’s actually a good problem to have. Parking challenges are a sign of places that are growing, vibrant, and worth visiting, and Cedar Rapids is increasingly becoming one of those places.
It’s the result of a true public-private partnership, with the City and private developers investing together to create places where people want to gather. That’s how great cities are built. Thanks Nate Kaeding, Joe Ahmann and team for getting it done.
With more than 450 parking spaces, including 20 for electric vehicles, it also provides:
• Free parking for 42 bicycles, with steel racks fabricated from 81 percent recycled content.
• Utility and storage spaces.
• Protection from the elements, while maintaining natural ventilation and daylight.
• Native plantings that provide seeds for birds and nesting habitat for butterflies.
Save me a space! 😂
