Job Position: Manufacturing Fabricator
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Department: Direct Labor
Reports to: Interim Operations Manager
Summary
The Manufacturing Fabricator is responsible for producing products to the specifications supplied by the Engineering Department.
Essential Functions

• Cutting and forming of raw material or purchased parts to be incorporated in assembled products; all conforming to specifications supplied by Engineering.
• Preparing sub-assemblies and assemblies prior to final forming of products.
• Final forming and finishing of products.
• Precisely following the currently approved processes for the product and cell involved.
• Keeping assigned work areas clean and orderly.
• Recording production data on correct forms.
• Moving to different positions when someone is out or to keep flow of product through the line to eliminate bottlenecks.
• Continually improving the processes for increased production efficiency through use of the Thermal Quality System.
• Maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 requirements per the Thermal Corporation Quality Management System.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and regular days of work and hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The ability to work overtime is required.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role uses equipment such as computers, welders, core cutters, air shears, and manual shears, measuring devices, band saws, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hand or machine crimping devices, drill presses, and grinders. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The ability to operate the equipment used in this role is essential as is the ability to perform stooping, crouching, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings and basic calculating and measuring abilities is essential
Preferred Education and Experience
2-years mechanical or electrical experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and 6 months experience
