Focus on Energy helps Wisconsin residents and businesses save energy, save money and protect the environment—all by showing them how to live and work more energy efficiently. Focus on Energy is Wisconsin utilities’ statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource program funded by the state’s investor-owned energy utilities, as required under Wis. Focus on Energy helps to implement projects that

otherwise would not be completed, or to complete projects sooner than scheduled. The Focus on Energy portfolio of programs serves a wide audience, from single-home families to farmers to large commercial businesses. Focus on Energy’s programs provide participants with the capacity to reduce their energy consumption and impact Wisconsin’s environment. Focus on Energy measures and evaluates energy reduction and impact for all energy efficiency and renewable energy projects through reliable and valid methods to ensure that Focus on Energy is using the best practices in the field. Focus on Energy is dedicated to increasing energy savings and customer satisfaction, leading Wisconsin to be a better environment to live in for years to come. Focus on Energy programs have returned $2.89 in energy-savings for every $1.00 invested since Focus on Energy was created in 2001.

Thank you Sustain Dane and Latino Academy of Workforce Development and all those in the program!

Sustain Dane, in partnership with Focus on Energy and the Latino Academy of Workforce Development, recently completed the second session of our Home Energy Rebate Train-the-Trainer Program, a community education initiative that helps households reduce energy costs and improve home comfort.

The program trains community leaders to guide families through energy-saving opportunities, including home weatherization, efficiency upgrades, and available Wisconsin rebate programs funded through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

During the February session, participants learned how to:
• Identify energy-saving home improvements
• Understand energy bills and household energy use
• Apply for state and federal home energy rebates
• Access free energy-saving kits

In March, newly trained participants shared this knowledge within their own networks to help friends, coworkers, family members, and neighbors navigate rebate applications, access resources, and take steps toward healthier, more energy-efficient homes.

By building local expertise, the program expands access to energy savings while strengthening community capacity to support affordable, sustainable housing. 💡
