Great to see this article highlight the work being done by Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust!
The bridge pictured is one of Dirigo Bridge Co.ās precast 3-sided box systems, installed as part of RLHTās effort to replace undersized culverts with open-bottom stream crossings.
These projects show how the right crossing can do more than provide access. It can maintain a natural streambed, improve aquatic organism passage, and provide a more resilient solution for Maineās streams and changing weather conditions.
Weāre proud to see one of our bridge products play a role in this important work, and we look forward to helping with more stream crossing and barrier removal projects across Maine.
Do you have an undersized or failing culvert that needs to be replaced? Dirigo Bridge Co. offers a range of open-bottom bridge solutions for municipalities, conservation organizations, forestry roads, private landowners, and contractors.
Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust plans to replace a number of outdated river connections and restore natural river channels across newly conserved land along the Magalloway River.
