Work is already underway on the first of two new fabs at GF's Malta campus. The plants will make essential chips for vehicles, industrial equipment and communications, strengthening U.S. supply chain resilience for the customers who depend on them.

CEO Tim Breen told Bloomberg that customer demand is driving the investment: “We need to respond to what our customers need.”

A homecoming worth celebrating. Earlier week, our executive chairman Tom Caulfield returned to Columbia Engineering — where he earned all three of his degrees — to deliver the keynote at Graduate Class Day.

Tom shared the playbook that took him from a firefighter's son in New York to leading one of the world's largest semiconductor companies: build the career, not the job. Make decisions, even without perfect data. And remember what engineering is really for.

"Engineering is not just about what we can build. It's about what we should build."
