Promising early safety and efficacy results continue to reinforce the potential of OCU410ST for Stargardt disease.

At 12 months, treated eyes demonstrated a 54% reduction in atrophic lesion growth, while 100% of evaluable treated eyes showed stabilization or improvement in visual function and achieved a +6 letter gain in visual acuity.

What is Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP)?

RP is a group of rare, inherited eye diseases that cause progressive vision loss over time. People with RP may have trouble seeing at night and can gradually lose their side vision. More than 150 genetic mutations can cause RP, making it difficult to treat.

OCU400, Ocugen's lead novel modifier gene therapy, is designed to address over 98% mutations associated with RP with a single, one-time treatment. By supporting retinal cells, OCU400 has the potential to preserve and restore vision for people living with RP, for whom no treatment currently exists.

Awareness starts with a conversation. Share this post to help educate others about RP.

What is Stargardt disease?

Stargardt disease is a rare inherited eye disease that slowly takes away central vision, making it harder to read, recognize faces, and see the world clearly over time. It affects the retina, the light-sensitive tissue in the back of the eye that helps us process what we see.

Ocugen is studying a potential gene therapy, OCU410ST, with the hope of slowing the progression of disease and helping protect vision for the future. Every step forward brings hope to individuals and families affected by inherited retinal diseases.

Susan, an OCU410ST clinical trial participant, shares her experience after treatment for Stargardt disease, reporting stabilization in the treated eye while the untreated eye continued to decline.

Now being studied in the Phase 2/3 GARDian3 pivotal confirmatory trial, OCU410ST is designed to slow or potentially even reverse disease progression.

From our office in Malvern, PA, to our office in Hyderabad, India, we support ! 💙💚🩷💜

Rare Disease Day is a time to raise awareness and reaffirm our commitment to patients and families living with inherited retinal diseases. To show support and unity, our team wore variations of the official Rare Disease Day colors. Wearing these colors is a simple but meaningful way to stand with the rare disease community and the patients we serve.

The Ocugen team is driven by purpose every day, advancing our innovative novel modifier gene therapies for inherited retinal diseases including retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt disease, where significant unmet medical needs remain.

Today, and every day, we stand with the rare disease community and the patients who inspire our work.

During , we recognize the impact of inherited retinal diseases and the urgent need for new treatment options.

Driven by our passion to put patients at the center and develop innovative gene therapies for major blindness diseases, Ocugen is advancing OCU400, our lead novel modifier gene therapy candidate designed to address all gene mutations associated with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) with a single, one-time injection. We plan to begin the rolling submission for the OCU400 Biologics License Application this year and potentially provide a treatment option for the 98% of RP patients for whom no therapy exists. Hearing the positive impact OCU400 is having on the lives of clinical trial participants propels us forward every day.
