Here’s how to spot a load-bearing wall 👇

🔹 Check the direction of your joists:

In most cases, load-bearing walls run perpendicular to the floor joists above.

🔹 Peek in the basement or attic:

If a wall sits directly on top of a beam, column, or foundation wall, chances are: it’s carrying the load.

🔹 Exterior walls = usually load-bearing.

They support the roof and upper floors.

🔹 Look at blueprints or building plans (if you have them).

Structural walls are often marked with thicker lines or labeled “bearing.”

🧱 When in doubt, call a pro.
