Super proud of these young men! With these 3 (and many others like them) our future is bright!

Hands-on learning. Real-world skills. Future workforce in the making.

Our second-year HVAC apprentices took part in a friendly class competition led by instructor Derek Robbins, building mock heat pump systems from scratch!

Each team was challenged to:
✔️ Install refrigerant piping
✔️ Follow electrical diagrams
✔️ Pressure test with nitrogen
✔️ Evacuate/dehydrate the refrigerant circuit
✔️ Charge refrigerant and test operation
✔️ Test for proper operation

With judging led by Level 3 and Level 4 apprentices, these future trade professionals showed off their skills in piping, electrical work, system performance, and overall craftsmanship.

Our first panel of this session is Employee Retention, with Jaime Quello of Peterson Sheet Metal, Inc. facilitating. Our panelists include Mike Kerner of Cox-Powell Corporation, Bobby Grimes of A & G Services, Eric Miske of EES Facility Services, James Craft of James CRAFT & Son and Rob Ritz of Freije Engineered Solutions Company. They will be discussing what they have put in place that is working well to keep current employees and attract new ones.
