Mancos, CO - January 2025
A customer wanted to utilize the shower function on their new tub. We framed around the walk-in tub, cut panels to fit, sealed every seam, and provided a plumbing access door. This was a custom job, in that there wasn't a manufactured surround, to create a shower. Each one of the FRP panels was cut to fit various curves and angles on the tub. It was a tedious and rewarding job!

Installed cedar deck boards, with concealed fasteners, on a 10' x 14' deck. The metal plate steel gave it a sleek, modern look. Overall, this property utilizes a lot of steel accents that will look great once finished. The square cut-out is covered with plate steel, and designed to access the septic clean-out. It doubles nicely as a safe, fire pit base!

About the owner:

My name is Jordan Borkowski, and I moved to Mancos in August of 2023. I am originally from Iowa, and have been in the construction field for six years; five of which, I have run my own company.

A primary focus of mine is customer service and customer satisfaction. I started in a highly competitive area, where a lack of professionalism (low quality work, not answering calls, not showing up), would guarantee you lose out on the job to another company. Since moving here, I have maintained this same level of customer service towards every project.

Most of my time has been invested in finish carpentry. Because of this, I have a high attention to detail, desire for each project to be "perfect", and will ensure that you are satisfied with your project at its completion.

We hung approximately 2000 SF of drywall in the same basement we framed out the staircase. The ceiling required a lot of drywall shims, as the floor joists had settled, were rough cut, and not all the same dimension, varying by up to 3/4 of an inch. Not pictured, is the adjacent garage, where we hung drywall on the 20' x 20' ceiling. We had a subcontractor come in to tape and mud the drywall. They are getting closer to having a finished basement!

We cut a hole in the first floor, and framed out the stairwell; giving the customers access to their basement. Having never done a job like this, it provided a lot of fun challenges, and experience towards potential variations in staircases for the future. Dealing with a confined space, the diagonal treads on the landing, allowed us to maintain an acceptable, individual step rise. We will eventually complete the hardwood treads and risers, and the stair trim on this staircase- newel posts, handrail, balusters, etc. Stay tuned!

We cut out a doorway, in a concrete foundation wall, connecting a new basement area to an existing garage. This was a wet and dirty project. Surprisingly, the Tyvek painting suits kept us dry (for the most part). We ran the demo saw for about two days straight, trying to fan away as much of the fumes as possible. We eventually installed the door as well (not pictured). You'll notice this basement in future projects where we cut in the stairwell, and hang the drywall. These customers have become great friends!

We extended the roof to create a 3.5' x 38' overhang, to help keep water away from the house. This was a really fun project, and went about as smooth as possible (doesn't always happen)! The customers were happy with the outcome, and have reported it is working as they hoped!

Here we added two custom doors to an outdoor book shelf, and refinished an exterior, dried out, door that had received a lot of sun. The finish treatment on the custom doors, and the lighter plywood in the picture, is a weathered-look treatment. It's called Lifetime, and you can get it at Rufe's Paint Store in Durango. Eventually the lighter material will match the existing, darker book shelf. We did many other maintenance tasks around this property: sealing and fixing garage stops, weather stripping, door sweeps, threshold replacement, and leaking door ways. Our customer has since reported that none of the doors are leaking anymore!

Kitchen remodel for a customer that experienced water damage in his kitchen. We replaced all of the upper and lower cabinets, and removed an outdated shelf that really opened up the room. The island had to stay, but the new cabinets matched nicely!

Cortez, CO - August 2024
We built a custom cabinet, to match an existing cabinet in the home, and to create more storage space in the customers bedroom. It's a 39" x 88" pantry style, alder cabinet. The arched doors were a new, fun challenge. She was happy with the finished product, and excited about the additional space!
