A team takes some time to come together and build synergy. There are 4 main phases of team development:
- Forming phase: which I like to call the honeymoon phase. The team members get to know each other.
- Storming phase: In this phase team members start having arguments about leadership, strategy, and goals.
- Norming phase: Trust is finally gained, and “when the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective.”
- Performing phase: Once cohesiveness is achieved, the team will finally move to a performing phase where everybody is moving for a shared goal and direction.
