We would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their ongoing support. The outreach by phone, email, social media, etc. from our employees, customers, vendors and the community has been overwhelming. As we have stated, our commitment to our customers has not changed and we strongly believe they will experience limited to no interruption as we continue to provide home propane, heating oil, and heating & air conditioning services to meet the needs of our customers as normal. We have a solid plan to keep the core of the company going despite the recent closure of the commercial fleet side of the business.

On May 21, 2018, we laid off 45 people in management and administrative roles from our various offices in PA and NJ. This comes a couple weeks after the disappearance of our CEO, Jeff Lyons. Due to potentially fraudulent activity, this has forced us to adjust our operating expenses to keep the company viable. We, of course, provide unemployment opportunity, COBRA coverage and job reference letters as requested.

On May 25, 2018, a large customer notified us that they were transitioning to a new vendor because we were proactively honest with our position to make sure they and their customers didn't experience any interruption in supply. They needed to make an understandable business decision to protect their supply interests. The customer transitioned a week sooner than expected, but we are still voluntarily paying our employees through the announced June 6th date when approximately 60 more layoffs will commence despite they won't have work in the interim. We are working with the vendors who are replacing us to refer our employees for jobs.

This is an inconceivable nightmare for everyone. We are doing everything we can to make this less traumatic for our employees. When we discovered the fraud, Seth Obetz immediately liquidated his life savings to keep the company going. We have a solid plan to keep the core of the company going and strongly believe we will come out the other side even stronger and customers will experience limited to no interruption.
The investigators are not revealing their progress, which they say will take weeks at least, but we are confident justice will be served. Our remaining team, our customers and even many of the unfortunate people who were laid off - even though none of them did anything except work very hard and provide great service to customers - have been incredibly supportive. It is both a humiliating and inspiring event. But it is an event that will pass, and we will all get through it one way or another.

Meet Kevin! Kevin is a part of our HVAC team and one of our expert Plumbers! He has been in the HVAC industry for 13 years now and been apart of the Worley & Obetz Family for over a decade. In his free time he is a volunteer firefighter for the Rheems Fire Department and of course he loves spending quality time with his family!

Kevin is excellent with helping our customers with any questions they may have while on his HVAC and plumbing jobs. We are so proud to have Kevin as one of our employees!
