In a remarkable collaboration, Goodrich Construction worked closely with the homeowners to design and install a railing that seamlessly blends with the original aesthetic of their 1914 residence. The project encompassed replacing and extending stair treads, meticulously refinishing the landing and upper staircase, and crafting a hand-fabricated newel post that beautifully echoes the leaded glass window's design. This impressive transformation was completed in just over a week and a half yet appears to be part of the property's original architecture.

The Goodrich Construction crew recently completed this Mudroom Transformation for a local family!

We converted this area from a space where shoes were left on the floor and the space could just be used much more efficiently. We worked with the homeowner to design a solution that fit their needs, including a built-in beverage fridge, broom closet, and even hidden microwave. Part of the design was to allow for ventilation in the shoe cabinet to help avoid unpleasant smells and bacteria growth, if they were put away before fully dried out. The cabinets and tops were custom made in-house for a custom, perfect fit. In addition, we updated the existing trim in the room to match other areas of the home where already swapped out.

For those of you wondering what is going on behind the plastic at River Rock Coffee in St Peter, here's a little glimpse.
We started this project knowing there was some structural issues on the front of the building but didn't know the extent of it. After some exploratory work and demolition, our team along with GP Engineering determined that removing entire brick facade on the front of the building was the only viable solution. The entire face of the building had settled and was failing. We are now in the process of repairing the limestone foundation and straightening out the cast iron posts and beam. Upcoming work will be to pour a bond beam, frame the walls and install a brick siding on the second level of the building.
Goodrich Construction prides themselves in maintaining the historic appearance of the building. When this project is complete, the goal is to make it look like nothing ever happened. All exterior brick details and historic cast iron will be placed exactly how it was before the demolition occurred.

Check out these amazing railings. Another incredible project completed through the collaboration of Otis Ironwork and Goodrich Construction. Goodrich assisted with the removal of the existing wood railing sections and the installation of the custom fabricated, steel, rail sections. These sections were hand designed and fabricated by Otis Ironwork to be the perfect fit for this space, both physically AND aesthetically!

Goodrich Construction, with the help of Ward Brothers and Meidl Concrete Services, was able to replace this dangerously settled stairway with a new Trex Deck. We also replaced an area of patio pavers with fresh concrete to aid in keeping water away from the foundation and potential water in their basement and even widened an area of their driveway. Now the homeowner has a great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and catch up on the latest news.
