This fan helps regulate the pressure inside a building. When things get out of balance, the system kicks on and the fan pushes excess air out, keeping everything stable.

What you’re seeing here is the main water line coming in from the city. It does double duty: supplying everyday water and feeding the fire suppression system.

Even though it’s one shared line, it’s handled by two specialists. We manage the building’s everyday water systems, while another contractor focuses on fire suppression.

We have different roles but the same goal of keeping buildings safe and running the way they should.

Here’s what bathroom plumbing looks like before and after drywall.

Before it goes up, you see all the piping in place for where the toilet will be. Once the drywall is installed, most of it disappears. All that’s left are the connection points for the fixtures.

In plumbing, what you don’t see is doing most of the work.

This crew is installing radiant ceiling panels. Instead of blowing hot air, they warm surfaces and people directly. Think of it like feeling the sunshine through a window.

Hot water runs through piping above the panels, which warms them. The heat then moves into the room below. The panels provide quiet, even heat with no drafts for maximum comfort.

In commercial garages, the air is constantly being monitored. Sensors track carbon monoxide levels from running vehicles. When levels get too high, exhaust fans like this one automatically kick on and pull air out of the building. That movement creates space for fresh outdoor air to replace it, keeping the environment in the enclosed space safer to breathe in.

We were back at it again this week with another round of hands-on learning. Our crew partnered with South Central College for confined space and trench safety training, working through real-world scenarios with their trench simulator. Preparing for any scenario is how we do the job right and stay safe doing it.
