Paige brings a wealth of experience back to our shop, having worked in machining, assembly, and welding throughout her career here at Jones Metal. Her hard work, positive attitude, and dedication have always made her a valued member of our team.

We’re proud to celebrate 84 years of Jones Metal, while also honoring an even bigger milestone of 100 years of the Jones family in Mankato manufacturing.

The story began in 1926, when Cecil Jones started his journey with Kato Engineering and recognized the value of separating metal fabrication into its own specialized focus. That vision came to life in 1942, when he and his wife, Mildred Page Jones, founded Jones Metal.

From humble beginnings in a small lean-to, we’ve grown into our current facility that has been our home for the past 55 years. In the early 70s, we even shared that space with another Jones company, Katolight - a testament to the family’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Today, as a 3rd-generation, high-tech metal fabrication company, we remain committed to the same principles that started it all: exceptional quality, reliable service, and continuous innovation.

Here’s to a century of manufacturing excellence and the generations that made it possible!

As we close out National Welding Month, we wanted to highlight the Jones Metal team!

At Jones Metal, we proudly celebrate the incredible contributions of welders - the skilled professionals who build and shape our world, one weld at a time. Welding is essential in creating and maintaining our infrastructure, ensuring safety and durability across industries. Welders bring innovation, craftsmanship, and precision to every project.

Our Welding Trainer Jordan Hall praised the team related to a recent complex project: “We sent in a great round of 29 welding certifications, and all passed. Great job by the welding team members as this helps us succeed with projects and partners every day.”

Our 2nd-generation owner Marcia Richards leads by example. As a Master Gardener and DNR Volunteer, she does her part recycling, composting, and caring for the land.

Inside our facility, sustainability is always on our radar - from material recycling and energy efficiency to paper-free processes, optimized designs, eco-conscious sourcing, and employee education. Outside, initiatives like our rain garden, pollinator-friendly landscaping, and fuel-efficient shipping fleet help extend our impact into the community.
