Plow all day, backfill all night. We've been hitting the tile ditch with the dozer to get a nice mound on top of the line. But, we will be building a mounted ditch closer on the plow over the summer, so we can reduce wear and tear on the dozer.

The other day we stopped at this field on the way to the next for a quick 10ac pattern. While we were there, the neighbor said to throw a few lines in on his side of the fence.

More tile = more bushels 😎

This was one of the most fun farms we have tiled, so we had to get the drone up. All laterals ran with the rows, we just had to work around fiber/power lines running between windmills. A district main is on the east side, and an open ditch on the south end. Very minimal ponding occured on the farm, but it is majority Canisteo soil. Which is heavy and needs drainage.

Water table is being lowered, yields will be rising and this farmers bank account and bins will be FULL. You pay for drainage one way or another, so you might as well pay to make farming fun and tile your farm

Years of erosion and under engineered designs caused the area around this drop structure to fail. We came in and removed the old riprap, cut the slopes back to 2:1, filled in the eroded and sluffed banks, and placed 80tns of IDOT Class D erosion stone. Come spring we will be back to place revetment grout and reseed the disturbed area.

Higher and more consistent yields, earlier planting and harvesting, no worries about getting stuck, deductions on your taxes, etc. What's not to love about tile!? Drain to gain baby!! ?
