Today we’re highlighting Amber, Credit Operations Manager at Carter Lumber.

Amber started with Carter Lumber 12 years ago as a temporary employee and has grown into a trusted leader on our Credit team. Throughout her career, she has led Collections and Underwriting, become a go-to resource for complex system issues and developed an expertise in Construction AIA Billing.

Last year, Amber’s hard work and impact were recognized with Carter Lumber’s President’s Club Award.

Her journey from temporary employee to Credit Operations Manager is a great example of where hard work, determination and a willingness to grow can lead.

Today we’re highlighting Dana from Carter Lumber’s Corporate Construction Department.

Dana’s history with Carter Lumber goes back to 1988, when he worked with the company as a mason contractor through Beheler Construction, building fire walls for new lumber yard locations. His work with Carter later expanded to include the construction of new pole buildings.

In 2002, Dana officially joined the Carter Lumber team as a Project Manager in the Corporate Construction Department, where he has now spent nearly 24 years.

From working with Carter as a contractor to building a career here, Dana’s story is a great example of the many paths a career in construction can take.

October is Careers in Construction Month!

Today we’re highlighting Michelle, Cash Application Manager with Carter Lumber’s Corporate Credit team.

Michelle has been with Carter Lumber for 15 years and has played an important role in developing and strengthening the Cash Application team. Throughout her career, she has built a deep understanding of how cash moves through the construction process while continuing to look for ways to improve processes and embrace new technology, including major payment portal implementations.

Michelle and her team accurately process thousands of customer payments each month, where reliability and attention to detail are critical. Along the way, she has built a strong team and remains committed to helping others learn, grow and advance their own careers.

With 15 years of experience, a dedication to continuous improvement, Michelle is a great example of the unique career paths and opportunities available at Carter Lumber.

We've recently had a few customers that have come from big box stores asking questions about if we template and install sold surface tops. Some big box stores apparently have homeowners measure their own tops, they order it based on those measurements and don't offer installation. For Solid surface, granite and quartz, we have trusted companies that will come out and template (in case walls are out of square), install and they can even remove the old top if you'd like.

We've actually had a few homeowners that have re-ordered their top through us over the years due to inaccurate measurements when they ordered through another company.

Our contractor event day had an amazing turnout today! Thank you for all of the contractors who took time out of their busy days to come eat and socialize with us. It was great to see everyone!
