Out of respect for Councilman Tommy Leon Kennie and family, and in light of the unforeseen earthly transition of his beloved mother, Mrs. Walta Mae Kennie, former Perry County Administrator, along with the previously communicated unavailability of additional members of the governing body resulting in a projected lack of quorum, the rescheduled City Council Meeting originally set for today, Monday, May 11, 2026, will instead convene during the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

The City of Marion extends its sincere condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Councilman Kennie and the entire Kennie family during this difficult time of loss and bereavement.
